Zomato Ventures Into Functional Food Segment: New Brands Coming Your Way

| Published on March 17, 2021

Zomato is one of the most popular food delivery and restaurant reward app, based out of Gurugram, Haryana. Founded by Deepinder Goyal, the company is prevalent in all the Tier I, II, and III cities in India delivering different types of food items and marketplace groceries. Just recently, Goyal posted a tweet on Twitter revealing that the company will venture into the functional food segment as well. This means that all you health buffs can order dietary supplements on the go!

Zomato has more than 1.5 lakh delivery partners moving from one place to another in every city, every day. This would bring in a lot of increment for the brand, giving tough competition to portals like HealthKart where dietary supplements form a major part of the catalog.

Goyal mentions that all brands featured on the platform will be made in India, and will come with a delivery guarantee of 15 minutes. This also means that the company will partner with local medical stores to provide ease of convenience to the customers.

Indeed, users are delighted to see how Zomato adapts to this segment as well and makes life easier with just a few taps on the screen.

A user also highlighted the fact that more and more people will be willing to try out the made in India brands over expensive, imported ones.

Deepinder also took the liberty to address his statement.

There are surely quite a number of well-wishers for Zomato, and rightfully so. The company has been serving the needs of all its customers with timely deliveries, cashbacks, offers on delivers, and dining experiences, and has been partnering with some of the best restaurant chains in India.
