Virtue Worldwide Appoints Saumya Baijal As Director Of Brand Strategy

Virtue Worldwide, VICE Media Group’s new-age creative agency, has appointed Saumya Baijal as Director of Brand Strategy, further strengthening its leadership team in India.

Before taking up this role, Baijal spent over seven years at the MullenLowe Lintas Group in various roles. She joined the company in August 2017 as Associate Vice President, Strategy. She was elevated to the position of Vice President Strategy in 2020 and was then promoted to the role of Senior Vice President, Strategy in 2022.

Before, Baijal worked at Ogilvy & Mather as Planning Director from 2014 to 2017. In a prior position with the company, she was Senior Planner from 2009 to 2011.

From February 2014 to June 2014, she held the position of Associate Planning Director at Law & Kenneth Saatchi & Saatchi. Before that, she served as a Brand Manager at Cisco Systems from May 2012 to January 2014. She also worked as an Account Executive at McCann Erickson from August 2007 to April 2009.

Virtue Worldwide highlighted that Baijal’s portfolio also includes collaborations with brands such as Absolut, Google, and Fabindia.

Huiwen Tow, Head of Strategy, Virtue APAC, shared her thoughts on Baijal’s appointment, stating, “In a world that is more divided than ever before, Saumya is one of those rare individuals that sees the world, not for what it is, but what it can be. She is a force of nature, unafraid to confront the real or challenge the status quo to move the conversation forward in culture. We are beyond ecstatic to have her with the Virtue India leadership team to take us into our next era of growth in India.”

In response to her new role, Baijal commented, “I am very excited to be a part of Virtue. The idea of diving deep into constantly evolving culture, extracting the insight, and then giving it a distinct flavour is a very very interesting challenge. In a world that changes so quickly and so drastically, finding anchors for a brand embedded in culture is not only important but necessary. Virtue understands this, and I can’t wait to explore more with the very talented team that has already set up a young, energetic, spirited place, committed to the same endeavour.”
