YES Bank has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India for the appointment of Vinay Muralidhar Tonse as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a period of three years, effective from the date he assumes charge. The appointment has remained subject to approval by the bank’s shareholders.
The bank has sought regulatory approval for new leadership while the current Managing Director and CEO, Prashant Kumar, has continued in the midst of his extended term, as per disclosures made to stock exchanges.
Prior to this appointment, Tonse has served as Managing Director (Retail Business and Operations) at State Bank of India until November 30, 2025. YES Bank has also confirmed that Tonse is not debarred from holding the office of a director by any order passed by SEBI or any other authority, in line with regulatory requirements.
