The coronavirus pandemic has created an influx in healthcare facilities, because of which new and old pharmaceutical companies in India have catered to the vast demand of the public. These past five months have been difficult for everyone, but as things become better and life goes back to normal gradually, we cannot thank these companies enough to increase their production of the necessary safety and sanitisation measures, and be there to provide the necessities to every home!

These are the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in India,

Divi’s Laboratories

This company is based in Hyderabad and was formed in the 1990s. It mainly manufactures pharmaceutical compounds and APIs.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

Anji Reddy formed Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in 1984. The chain has over 190 medications, over 70 pharmaceuticals, drug manufacturers, kits and more.

Cipla Limited

Cipla is one of the most reputed pharmaceutical brands in India that is headquartered in Mumbai, and was founded by Khwaja Abdul Hamied in 1953. Most of its pharmaceuticals deal with prevention and cure for respiratory, cardiovascular, diabetes arthritis-related symptoms.

Cadila Healthcare Limited

Founded by Ramabhai Patel in the 1950s, Cadila is soaring as one of the largest healthcare pharmaceuticals in India, with revenue of Rs. 119.05 billion.

Glenmark Pharma Limited

Gracias Saldanha founded Glenmark Pharma Limited in 1977. It has made an achievement in finding drugs related to dermatology, oncology and respiratory issues.

ManKind Pharma Limited

ManKind is considered the biggest pharmaceutical companies in India, with a revenue of Rs. 52 billion. It incorporates drugs and kits for dermal issues, cardiovascular symptoms, gastrointestinal, antifungal and erectile dysfunction symptoms.

Novaritis India

This company has its headquarters in Switzerland and deals with pharmaceuticals, eye care and generic medicines, all around India. Their major areas of focus include bone health, gynaecology and neurosciences.

Piramal Enterprises Limited

Founded by Ajay Piramal in the 1980s, this conglomerate deals with healthcare, drug discovery and consumer products.

Lupin Limited

The market capitalisation of Lupin Limited makes it the 12th best pharmaceutical company in India! Founded by the Desh Bandhu Group, they usually incorporate anti-tuberculosis, asthma and other respiratory symptoms.

Sun Pharmaceuticals

This multinational pharmaceutical company saw an increase in revenue owing to the coronavirus months in the country. It was started in 1983 by Mr. Dilip Shagivi.
