2018-2019 was indeed the year for Maruti Suzuki India who dominated the list of top 10 cars of the year besides Hyundai India who also successfully made it to the list with its top 3 models.
1. Maruti Suzuki Alto:
MSI’s entry-level hatchback Alto was named the best selling passenger vehicle for the year 2018-2019 with a sale of 2,59,401 units against 2,58,539 units in its previous year.
2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
MSI’s compact sedan secured the second place in the list with sales of 2,53,859 units in the year 208-2019.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift
The premium hatchback of Maruti Suzuki India made it’s way up this year by being listed at number 3 in the list with sales of 223924 units in the year 2018-2019 against number 4 with 1,75,928 units in the year 2017-2018.
4. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
MSI’s Baleno who was at number 3 in the previous year stood at number four with sales of 2,12,330 units in the year 2018-2019.
5. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
MSI’s compact SUV was promoted 2 spots up with sales of 1,57,880 units against 1,48,462 units in the year 2017-2018.
6. Hyundai i20
Hyundai’s premium hatchback Elite i20 was sixth in the list of the best selling cars in 2018-2019 with sales of 1,40,255 units. The car has successfully moved two spots up from last year when it sold 1,36,182 units.
7. Grand i10
Hyundai’s entry-level car Grand i10 came down two spots this year occupying the seventh position with sales of 1,26,041 units against 1,51,113 in the previous year.
8. Hyundai SUV Creta
Hyundai’s Creta secured the 8th position in the list with sales of 1,24,300 units in the year 2018-2019. Last year, the SUV was at position 9 with sales of 1,07,136 units.
9. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
MSI’s small car Wagon R which was at number 5 previous year slipped down to number 9 in the list of top 10 best selling car in the year 2018-2019 with a total sale of 1,19,649 units.
10. Maruti Suzuki Celerio
The auto major Maruti Suzuki India’s Celerio completed the list by retaining the 10th position with sales of 1,03,734 units in the year 2018-2019 against 94,721 units in the year 2017-2018.
