Times Internet has appointed Rahul K. Rao as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), as per the updated ‘Experience’ section of his LinkedIn profile.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning cloud operations, IT infrastructure, engineering and technology transformation, Rao takes on the CIO role at Times Internet at a time when organisations are increasingly investing in scalable digital infrastructure and cloud-led innovation.
Rao joins the digital media company after a stint at Pine Labs, where he served as Director – Cloud, IT Infrastructure and DevOps from December 2024 to June 2026.
Prior to Pine Labs, he was associated with Apollo Tyres as Divisional Head – Cloud Technologies and IT Infrastructure from April 2022 to December 2024, overseeing the company’s cloud and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
Before joining Apollo Tyres, Rao spent more than four years at Bharti Airtel. He served as Deputy General Manager – Cloud Operations and Engineering from June 2021 to April 2022, after holding the position of Senior Manager – Cloud Operations and Engineering from February 2018 to June 2021.
Earlier in his career, Rao worked at Accenture for over six years. He was Information Technology Infrastructure Manager from December 2014 to January 2018 and Technical Consultant from September 2011 to December 2014.
Prior to Accenture, he served as Team Lead at Cisco from July 2008 to September 2011. He began his professional journey at Convergys, where he worked as Network Specialist from January 2006 to July 2008.
