Non fungible tokens are in vogue these days, making them the hottest cryptocurrency in the world currently. With many celebrities taking a dive into the world of NFTs and even endorsing it by investing in them, it is slowly gaining a strong hold in India. Though the market is small, it still has many millennials vouching for it too. And now, entering the NFT marketplace is actress Sunny Leone.
An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger in the form of a code, which is called a blockchain. This blockchain is proof that this digital asset is unique and hence cannot be interchangeable, thereby validating authenticity and ownership of each asset. Videos, audios, pictures, paintings and even memes can be represented by an NFT.
They can be bought and sold by audiences in the secondary market. And Sunny Leone announced her first collectible venture on Twitter.
She has also become the first Indian actress to mint NFTs. Minting is a process by which any digital art becomes a part of the Ethereum blockchain. She has partnered with Mintdropz for the same.
