Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the exclusive media rights for the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, which have been scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland. The event has been set to air live on Sony Sports Network channels and stream on Sony LIV across the Indian subcontinent.
The broadcaster has secured the rights for the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games, which have featured a compact competition format with ten sports and an integrated Para sport programme comprising 47 medal events across six sports. The sports programme has included Athletics, Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls and 3×3 Basketball.
India has entered the Games after its performance at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where it had won 61 medals, including 22 gold medals, and had finished fourth in the overall medal standings.
Sony Pictures Networks India has stated that it will provide multilingual coverage, expert analysis and live programming throughout the tournament, including the opening ceremony and medal events.
The 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games have been scheduled to begin on July 23, 2026, with live coverage starting at 1 PM IST on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV.
