Snapchat Mocks Instagram With Its First TVC

Brands have the nack of making fun of their competitors. It gets very interesting when popular brands mock their rivals in advertising campaigns. Such ads get the attention of the viewers and brands get the result they want- engagement.

A similar scenario has happened again with Snapchat sharing its first TV commercial. It looks like Snapchat wants to explain that they are more of a camera company and focuses more on educating users rather than entertaining. The glimpse of this can be seen in the commercial.

The TVC shows users clicking pictures of everyday things—like brushing teeth enjoying with a dog and many more. The features such as app’s filters, lenses and graphics are also being displayed. The last few seconds of the ad gives a clear message that Snapchat is different from other online platforms and also mocks its rival Instagram. “It’s a camera for talking because a Snap says more than a text, so, yeah, Snapchat is a camera—where how you feel matters more than how you look.” the message in the ad reads.

The video looks very refreshing and connects with the audience beautifully. Also, Snapchat has delivered its message in a very good way. This commercial will be seen on the television sets soon and choosing the television audience also seems to be a good idea.

The commercial has been introduced at a very important time for the growth of Snapchat. Right now, Snapchat is struggling to meet the expectations of investors and has lost huge money due to negative comments from popular celebrities.
