Scam Protections, AI Chatbots & Creative Tools Define This Fortnight In Social Media

This fortnight, social platforms have focused on AI innovation, safety, and creator usability, rolling out updates that affect creators, marketers, and users in India. Meta has introduced new scam protection features for older users and expanded creative options on Instagram with Watch History, Restyle editing for Stories, and drawing tools for DMs.

YouTube has leaned further into generative AI with Studio chatbot explainers, Q&A stickers, and time limits to guide engagement on Shorts. Snapchat continues its push in India with expanded access to its AI-powered “Imagine Lens.” Meanwhile, Facebook is testing photo-scan prompts to encourage content sharing, and Reddit has filed legal action against AI data scrapers, strengthening its data control stance.

Meta Introduces Scam-Prevention Features for Older Users
