Rohan Mirchandani, the Co-founder of the yogurt brand Epigamia, passed away on Saturday at the age of 42 due to a sudden cardiac arrest.
Epigamia’s senior leadership team, headed by Ankur Goel-COO and founding member and Uday Thakker- Co-founder and Director, will remain at the helm, with backing from the board of directors, which includes the Mirchandani family and prominent investors such as Verlinvest and DSG Consumer Partners.
Mirchandani, an alumnus of NYU Stern and The Wharton School, established Drums Food International in 2013. With his visionary leadership, the company transitioned from its origins as Hoki Poki ice cream to becoming Epigamia, a widely recognised name in yogurt and dairy products.
Mirchandani envisioned taking the brand beyond India’s borders, setting sights on expansion into the Middle East by 2025-26. He played a pivotal role in popularising Greek yogurt among young consumers, leveraging a strategic brand approach to make it a go-to choice for the youth.
