Protean eGov Technologies, a publicly listed population-scale technology company which builds digital public infrastructure and eGovernance solutions to help nations fulfill their social and financial inclusion agenda, has elevated Gaurav Ramdev as Chief Growth and Marketing Officer.
Being associated with the company since June, last year, Ramdev in his new role as CGMO will continue to be the brand steward whilst taking additional charge as Growth owner for D2C P&L across B2C, B2B, B2B2C and Digital partnerships at the company.
Taking to LinkedIn to announce the same, he mentioned, “We didn’t come this far, to only come this far. I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Growth & Marketing Officer at Protean eGov Technologies. The Chief Growth & Marketing Officer role expands the ambit of the Marketing function and brings in growth as an additional pillar, assigning direct P&L responsibility, aligning with the growth imperatives of Protean. Very thankful to my team for their relentless support and contribution.”
During his CMO tenure at Protean eGov Technologies, he was responsible for leading all marketing functions for the company including Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Content Marketing, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, PR functions, Strategy and Innovation GTMs.
In the past one year, he built a team comprising 29 professionals from the ground up, driving the delivery of Protean’s brand positioning and its first-ever brand campaign in addition to developing and executing a go-to-market (GTM) playbook for product launches, and delivered the annual business strategy and operating plan as well as supported business functions by generating leads and optimising processes, and led direct-to-consumer (D2C) initiatives.
Recently, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) had also appointed him as their new Co-Chairperson, National Council of Branding and Marketing.
Before joining Protean as CMO over a year back, Ramdev was the Head of Marketing at Razorpay from January 2022 to June 2023.
Prior to that, he was associated with The Coca-Cola Company for about six years, of which he served as a Brand Marketing Lead- Fanta Trademark- India and Southwest Asia of the company for the last one year. He joined the company as Marketing Manager in October 2015 and was promoted to the position of Country Marketing Manager- South West Asia in November 2017.
From August 2014 to October 2015, he worked with Britannia Industries as Senior Brand Manager- Premium Cream Biscuits comprising brands like Treat, Jim Jam, Pure Magic etc.
In the past, he was also associated with Orkla Group as Category Manager- Ready To Cook and Ready To Eat range, ITC as Assistant Manager- Marketing and Satyam Computers Services (now part of Tech Mahindra) as Software Engineer- Geographic Information Systems.
