Google, Youtube, Apple Music Among Top Leaders Of 2022: Cloudfare Report

Cloudfare Radar has released a fresh report on what was trending on the Internet in 2022 and we are bound to bring it to you.

So the report talks about the top trending brands in various segments. Let’s take a look at some highlights.

  • To not so much of our surprise, Google has been the most popular service of the year 2022. And why not? We all know, it is undoubtedly the most used and sought-after service by most of us, if not all of us. In this category, Facebook stood in the second position while Apple and TikTok had a tie at the third position. Youtube stood at number 5.

  • In the Social Media category, Facebook has emerged as the most popular social media service of 2022. TikTok stood at the second position in this category while Instagram came in the third position after beating Twitter which was shifted to the fourth in August. The photo and video-sharing app gained more popularity in the past years and hence managed to beat Twitter in terms of popularity.

  • Another important highlight of this report witnessed that Worldwide Internet traffic surged in late November because of the FIFA World Cup. Also, Black Friday was the busiest day online in 2022, all thanks to the excited holiday shoppers.
  • More phishing emails originated from the United States than the next 22 countries combined.
  • Iran had to shut down the Internet more than any other country as it observed 60 Internet blackouts this year which was one-third of all Internet shutdowns according to Cloudfare.

  • In the audio segment, Apple Music came first and beat Spotify.
