Asha Sharma has been elevated to CEO of Xbox at Microsoft.
She announced this move via a linkedin post.
She previously served as President, CoreAI Product, where she led the product portfolio for AI models, applications, agents, responsible AI, and developer tools for customers worldwide. Before that, she was CVP and Head of Product for Microsoft’s AI Platform.
Sharma rejoined Microsoft in 2024 after serving as Chief Operating Officer at Instacart from 2021 to 2024. During her tenure, she helped lead the company to IPO and profitability and was responsible for a $30 billion plus GMV P&L spanning product, design, data science, research, marketing, operations, customer support, and new businesses.
Prior to Instacart, Sharma spent four years at Meta from 2017 to 2021 as VP Product and Engineering. She headed products across Messenger and Instagram Direct and served as GM of calling, video, and kids experiences. She had earlier worked as Director, Social Impact Products.
Between 2013 and 2017, Sharma served as COO at Porch Group, where she helped build the company and led product, engineering, sales, marketing, and operations. The company later made a $1 billion public debut. She had also served as CMO and was a board member from 2015 to 2022.
Earlier in her career, Sharma worked at Microsoft in marketing roles from 2011 to 2013.In addition to her executive roles, Sharma serves as a Board Member at The Home Depot since 2025 and at Coupang from 2024.
