Marketing Gimmick: Prestige ‘Pure Vegetarian Water’ Ad Goes Viral

| Published on June 22, 2019

Social Media is a funny world. People spending time on social media mostly prefer funny content and that has been proven a lot of times. The things that go viral online either have humor, emotions of some hatred content. Recently, a desi ad has been moving all across digital media because people are finding it hilarious.

If you are an aware shopper, you must have seen green and red dots on the packaging of food products as they represent that the item in the package is vegetarian non-vegetarian. This is a rule as per the act passed by the Food Safety Standard Act 2006.

The topic of discussion is Prestige launched a water purifier and to market their product, the brand has used the green dot as their purifier ensures it’s pure vegetarian water!

Marketing Gimmick: Prestige ‘Pure Vegetarian Water’ Ad Goes Viral

Well. this is the first time ever when I have read something called Vegetarian water. However, the company just said the water which we drink is Non-vegetarian?

Prestige believes “Most water purifiers and boiling water kill germs, bacteria but the chemically killed germs and bacteria remain in the water. Hence it makes the water NON-VEGETARIAN not Vegetarian Water. But Prestige LifeStraw uses Ultrafiltration with hollow fibre technology physically removes all bacteria and viruses which makes the water VEGETARIAN.”

This came as a shock for online users and they came up with some hilarious replies:
