Indian entrepreneurs have proven to be one of the strongest leaders amongst leading brands. Many women have established themselves as influential businesswoman after defying numerous hurdles given away by society.

Recently, Falguni Nayar made history by becoming the only Indian woman to lead a unicorn. Her hard work has paved a path for many to follow.

Here are some of the leading clothing brands that are led by strong Indian women.

Biba – Meena Bindra

Biba Apparels is an Indian fashion brand for women and girls founded by Meena Bindra in 1988 from her home in New Delhi. The brand currently has more than 150 brand outlets and 225 multi-brand outlets.

Okhai – Kirti Poonia

Kirti Poonia founded Okhai in 2015 along with 350 women in Gujarat. Today Okhai is impacting 2300 women artisans across the country. A part of the Tata Administrative Services (TAS) Kirti has previously worked across industries and functions of 6 Tata companies.

Indya – Shivani Poddar and Tanvi Malik

Started in 2016, the House of Indya is the brainchild of Shivani Poddar and Tanvi Malik. It is one of India’s leading omnichannel fashion houses.

WROGN & Imara – Anjana Reddy

Anjana Reddy is the founder of the Indian fashion company Universal Sportsbiz which owns the apparel brand, Wrogn. Universal Sportsbiz has many celebrity-endorsed brands specializing in trendy clothing and accessories, including Collectabillia, Wrogn, and Imara. The company has more than 70 stores in the country and is also available on e-commerce platforms.

Vajor – Nathasha AR Kumar

Nathasha AR Kumar is the founder, and CEO of Vajor, a label that offers fashion and lifestyle products. Born and brought up in Ludhiana, Natasha moved to Hong Kong after he got a job as a chef there. She started her entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17.
