Tesla has seen a surge in the demand & popularity of electronic cars. Their impact on the Indian market was bound to happen. Tesla’s popularity can be measured when recently Mukesh Ambani, Asia‘s richest man bought one of its models.
Mukesh Ambani is known to own the most extravagant things. Whether it is owning an electronic car or a vertical mansion, everything has to be the best. The recent wedding functions in the Ambani family gave the world proof that they are nothing less than royalties.
But what has shocked us all is the fact that Mukesh Ambani recently bought a second hand Tesla car. Mukesh Ambani is now one of the first owners of a Tesla in India as the S 100D model joins the Lamborghinis and Bentleys in the Ambanis’ garage.
The Tesla Model S 100D is an extremely powerful set of wheels. The electric motors powering the vehicle generates a maximum of 423 PS of power and a massive 660 Nm. The power goes to all the wheels and it can do the 0-100 km/h dash in just 4.3 seconds. The Models S 100D can reach an electronically limited tops-speed of 250 km/h while it returns a maximum of 495 km on a single full charge.
But is it really true that the Tesla, that Ambani owns, was owned or used by someone else before? Actually, no! Let us understand how this works.
According to reports, the S 100D model is registered to the Reliance Industries Ltd as the second owner of the vehicle. This is the case when cars are imported as it is first registered in the name of the importer. The vehicle is then registered to the name of the owner who bought it.
While the number of owners matters a lot when it comes to the value of a vehicle in the used car market, it would not matter so much when it comes to exotic vehicles.
