Kent Ro‘s recent advertisement for its dough kneading machine has received a lot of flak for its disrespectful statement. Many Twitter users pointed out the insensitive content promoted by such a big brand.
The ad read, “Are you allowing your maid to knead atta dough by hand?” the advertisement asked, and added, “Her hands may be infected,” in reference to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “Choose KENT Atta & Bread Maker for hands-free kneading of dough. Let automation take care of hygiene this time!”
It instantly went viral and soon the brand also took notice of the people’s outrage and issued an apology. Soon after, Hema Malini, actor & politician, who also has been endorsing the brand came forward and expressed her feelings regarding the advertisement and made her stand clear on the whole issue.
Even Kent has apologized for this.
Please accept our sincere apologies for having published the Ad of Kent Atta & Bread Maker. It was unintentional but wrongly communicated and it has been withdrawn. We support and respect all sections of the society.
