Girl Pitches Valentine Theme Internship Proposal To Zomato. Gets Praised Online

| Published on February 18, 2022

Valentine’s week is considered and celebrated as the season of love across the world. From lovers to friends and even family, people tend to dedicate the day to their loved ones.

However, a young girl has taken it as an opportunity to get herself the job of her dreams. Dikshita Basu, a young product designer, has shared a very unique job application to work with the online food aggregating major Zomato on her LinkedIn profile.

Her post read, “This Valentine’s Day I want to ask Zomato out, for an Internship. So, to apply… I thought to curate something that is worthwhile.”

Dikshita even tagged Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, Zomato Design Lead Vijay Verma, and Zomato CEO for food delivery Rahul Ganjoo in her post.

Her 14-page internship proposal begins with a cartoon character saying, “HOLA! Zomato you make me happy.” The character then goes on to say, “I wore a Sushi scarf to make you happy.”

To prove her worth, Dikshita even explains why she is the perfect candidate to be hired. She points out in her slides that Zomato has two different entry points to upload photos of restaurants, which leads to two different outputs because of two different user flows for the same action.

She goes on to suggest that Zomato considers the use of “Zomato Zing”  which is a 15-second videos feature/app of food that can be used to place orders or book a table if they catch the customer’s fancy.

The LinkedIn post has since gone viral and has collected more than 17,000 likes. CEO for Zomato food delivery, Rahul Ganjoo, did catch up with the viral post and commented “Appreciate the effort, Dikshita Basu! We’ll be in touch shortly.”

It will be exciting to see how things come through for Dikshita as it is safe to say that she does have a talent for it.
