Leena Jaisani, Deputy Secretary General at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), has passed away on Sunday evening following a cardiac arrest. She has been hospitalised for several days and has been on ventilator support prior to her death.
Jaisani has had a career spanning over three decades at FICCI, where she has led the media and entertainment vertical and has been involved in a range of industry and policy-related initiatives. In her role, she has engaged with stakeholders across film, television, and digital media, and has participated in discussions between industry representatives and government bodies on sectoral issues.
She has been closely associated with FICCI Frames, the industry body’s annual convention on media and entertainment. Over the years, she has contributed to its development as a platform for dialogue on policy, business, and emerging trends, bringing together industry participants, policymakers, and international delegates.
Her work has included involvement in industry consultations and forums addressing areas such as content creation, distribution, and the evolving digital media landscape. She has also participated in stakeholder engagements and discussions around regulatory and business issues affecting the sector.
Jaisani’s tenure has coincided with a period of significant change in India’s media and entertainment industry, including the expansion of digital distribution, the growth of online platforms, and shifts in content consumption patterns.
