DB Corp has re-appointed Sudhir Agarwal as Managing Director of the company for a period of five years from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2031, subject to shareholder approval.
The company’s Board of Directors has approved the re-appointment during its meeting held on May 11, 2026, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
The company has stated that Agarwal has been associated with D. B. Corp since inception and has served on its Board for nearly 35 years. He has been responsible for the company’s long-term vision, performance monitoring and overall business strategy.
According to the company’s filing, D. B. Corp has expanded its newspaper operations from one state in 1997 to 12 states by 2022, and from four editions to 61 editions across three languages under his leadership.
The company has also stated that Agarwal conceived and implemented its door-to-door contact launch strategy, which has been referenced in case studies by institutions including the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Harvard Business Review.
D. B. Corp has further confirmed that Sudhir Agarwal has not been debarred from holding the office of Director by the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other authority.
