Burgundy Private, which is Axis Bank’s Private banking business in collaboration with Hurun India, released a list of the top female employers in the country, for the year 2022.
And according to the 2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 report, Tata Consultancy Services tops the list. Let’s check the top five employers, who have a substantial number of women in their workforce.
1. TCS
Tata Consultancy Services is not just the biggest employer in India but is also the top women employer in the country.
This largest private sector employer has 2,10,000 women in its workforce, a whopping 35% of its over 5.9 lakh employees.
2. Infosys
Infosys employs 1.24 lakh employees, forming 40% of its total workforce. It is the second highest employer of women workforce.
3. Wipro
The third IT company to feature in the top ten list, Wipro has 88,946 women working for it, accounting for 36% of its employee workforce.
4. HCL Technologies
Roshni Nadar led HCL Technologies is the fourth biggest women employer in the country. 28% of its workforce comprises women professionals, which is around 62,780 female employees.
5. Reliance Industries
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries is fifth on the list with 62,560 female employees, amounting to 18% of its workforce.
RIL is followed by Motherson Sumi Systems which has a workforce comprising of 41%. It is followed by Tech Mahindra employing a 39% female workforce.
ICICI Bank is eighth on the list followed by HDFC Bank. The tenth company is Page Industries valued at INR 55,511 crore which has a female workforce of 74%.
Women On Boards
Apollo Hospitals tops the list with 6 women on the Board of Directors. It is followed by Godrej Consumer Products, Piramal Enterprises, and India Cements with 5 women each.
Other interesting facts from the report
The top ten companies offered 3.9 lakh new jobs in the past year, and between them, they employ 11.6 lakh women.
Reliance Industries is the most valuable company worth INR 17 lakh crores, and Serum Institute Of India is the most valuable unlisted company valued at INR 2,19,700 crore.
Byju’s is the most valued startup valued at INR 1,82,200 crore.
