According to media reports, India has emerged as Canva’s fourth-largest and one of its fastest-growing markets globally, and the popular graphic design platform aims to make the country its top market in the coming years, driven by strong adoption among creators, students, and the increasing use of AI-powered design tools, according to Canva India head Chandrika Deb.
The rapid uptake of Canva’s AI-driven tools, including Magic Write, Magic Design, and Translate, has added momentum to its growth. Users across segments creators, educators, small businesses, consumers, and knowledge workers are increasingly leveraging the platform for both professional and personal use.
Recognising India’s mobile-first ecosystem, Canva has emphasised design on-the-go and introduced hyper-local content, covering Indian weddings, festivals, and culturally relevant templates.
The platform also collaborates with over 500 Indian creators to co-develop local content for its design library, amplifying both creator reach and user engagement.
India’s artificial intelligence market, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25–35%, is projected to reach 17 billion by 2027, as per a Nasscom-BCG report.
