Samsung is not taking its defeat from Xiaomi becoming the telecom leader in India lightly and is all set to take the challenge head-on. Samsung that runs 2100 stores in India through franchise partners has now opened a 3000 square meter store in Bengaluru. This is Samsung’s biggest store to date, in the world.
Brand Speak
“India is an extremely important market,” Mohandeep Singh, senior vice-president, mobile business at Samsung India told Reuters, adding that the company plans to open more such stores in some of India’s top 10 cities.
“These stores will really help us further consolidate our share as we move forward,” Singh said.
The Indian Market
While the growth of mobiles may have slowed down in the United States and China, India still has a long way to go and thus these telecom giants see a huge potential in the Indian market.
Samsung is currently the second largest telecom brand in India and is facing tough competition from the Chinese mobile handset company, Xiaomi, which is currently the market leader. Opening this huge store in the tech hub of the country also gives Samsung a lead over other brands like Apple, who do not own any flagships stores in India yet.

Samsung In India
This is Samsung’s second big investment in India, as just about 2 months ago Samsung opened the world’s biggest smartphone plant in the National Capital Region. This clearly shows, how big India is a market for Samsung and even other telecom brands.
The Experience Center
Not just mobiles, but the store will also showcase other consumer electronics from the house of Samsung along with its latest innovations. The store is also said to have a service center for mobile phones.

The store will also host meetings for startups and venture capitalists in the coming future
Samsung also wants to develop the center as a meeting point for startups and venture capitalists, Singh added.
