Ajit Singh Kaunsal Joins New Media Holding As VP & Head Of Marketing

Ajit Singh Kaunsal has joined New Media Holding as Vice President and Head of Marketing. The move was confirmed via his LinkedIn update and is effective June 2025.

Kaunsal was previously with MX Player for over five years. He joined the platform in September 2019 as Senior Manager – Marketing and was later elevated to Associate Director  Marketing in April 2021, a role he held until August 2024. During this time, he led brand repositioning efforts, launched MX Takatak, oversaw content marketing for over 100 originals, and helped introduce MX Gold, the platform’s SVOD service.

Before MX Player, Kaunsal spent nearly seven years at Sony Pictures Networks India, where he held multiple roles across research, digital marketing, and campaign execution from 2012 to 2019. He led SonyLIV’s brand refresh in 2016 and played a key role in introducing early web series formats.

Earlier in his career, Kaunsal worked at TAM Media Research from 2008 to 2012, where he led analytics and insights for IPL and major cricket properties under TAM Sports. He also held a business analyst role at Harapa International in 2008.
