Good news for Xiaomi fans as the smartphone brand has successfully retained the top position in India according to IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Q1 2018 reports. Xiaomi now has 30.3% market share in Indian smartphone market and the gap with its competitors has widened. If we consider only online marketplace, it contributed 59.6% market share.
Xiaomi has sold a total of 30 million phones between January and March 2018 and its previous year’s record of 124 million mobile sales is expected to get broken this year.

The smartphone battle of Xiaomi and Samsung
Numbers show that Xiaomi has earned trust among Indian buyers and its rival Samsung is still facing issues to get the attention of budget smartphones customers despite several methods. Samsung now has 25.1 percent share in Indian smartphone market and other competitors have also started to hurt Samsung.
Oppo beating Vivo
Although both Oppo and Vivo are owned by BBK Electronics, their competition is always interesting to see. Oppo has reported a record rise of 750 percent in sales and has beaten Vivo. It currently ranks on the number 3 position with 7.4% market share compared to Vivo’s 6.7%.
The rise of Transsion
One name that has surprised everyone with its numbers is Chinese smartphone maker Transsion. With iTel, Tecno, Infinix, and Spice getting 3 times increase in sales last year, Transsion is standing on 5th position with 4.6% market share in India.
Other remaining brands have achieved 25.9 percent sales in Q1 2018 according to this report.
