With the emergence of social media, people have been busy sharing their skills on social media. The most uploaded videos have been of people dancing to their favorite dance numbers. A song goes viral when people start using it to make reels and TikTok videos.
But it’s becoming very challenging today to find ways to make viral videos. People create new hook steps or a routine to go with the most trending songs. And it still is not enough.
Los Angeles-based choreographer couple, Austin and Marideth Telenko, have come up with a unique way to keep the audience entertained. The duo has posted a video of how one can dance on iPhone ringtones.
As absurd as it may sound, their video has garnered a lot of attention and people are loving their take on mundane iPhone alarm sounds.
They came up with the idea when in May 2022, their alarm went off one morning, and Marideth said, “what if we danced to that?”
Marideth said that they believed it would be a great idea to use the alarm sounds because of the ‘deep connection’ people develop with alarm tones.
She said that she never uses the alarm tone she used in college because it reminds her of the oh-so-dreaded 8 am classes. But they later realized that some of these alarm sounds were quite long, and decided to create choreography to text tones as a short-form and easily digestible social media alternative.
They have not only made videos on the alarm sounds but have also used Text Tones and other tones available on an iPhone. People have had a great reaction to their creative content and the duo has received a lot of appreciation.
