1. Research your target market

A healthy business can only thrive on a healthy clientele. Thus, before anything else, you must have a full buyer persona of your target audience.

In a yoga business, people who wish to lead a healthy lifestyle away from stress and have disposable income are the right audience. Similarly, people with elderly parents at home can your extended audience for expansion in the future.

2. Develop a Plan

A decent and feasible plan is very important to run any business. Start with analyzing the working capital requirement for your own studio and the other day to day running expenses of the business.

Once you are done with the fixed cost, find the marketing expenses, and make sure you have the initial investments to start off.

3. Analyze the revenue sources

There are many ways in which a Yoga Instructor can make money. It can be on a per-class basis, on a subscription basis, or even on a monthly basis depending on the number of classes.

The best way to come up with a revenue model will be to analyze your competitor’s plan and work on a similar model.

Checking your expenses at the beginning of the business is a must. You can start small by renting a space, take a place on lease, or convert a spare area of your home into a studio.

However, make sure you have bought enough yoga mats for your students. If you are organizing a studio, the basic essentials in terms of appliances and furniture are also important.

5. Get ready with a marketing plan

The best way to grow a Yoga business has to be referral programs and word of mouth marketing. However, you can also choose to go online and have cute pop-ups in the local cafes. Another way of community outreach can be through weekend park demonstrations and workshops.

6. Pick a feasible location

The geographical location of any business matters the most when it comes to revenue generation. The best place for a yoga studio has to be a place with a lot of open parking, and away from a lot of traffic and busy streets.

7. Choose a niche

When it comes to yoga, there can be many ways and forms for doing it. However, the best approach would be to specialize in 2-3 forms and then teach it to your students. You may have to cover a lot of variants, depending on demand from the clientele.

8. Design a logo & website

A logo is a must for your brand’s identity along with a website that will help you reach out to your potential customers. It also gives a premium feel to the brand and will help you stand apart from all your competitors.

Now that you have a scratch plan ready, what are you waiting for? Go, make this world a healthier place. All the best!
