JioStar has promoted Abhimanyu Khanna as Head of Rights Acquisition, BCCI, expanding his responsibilities within the company’s sports business. He took to LinkedIn to announce his new role.
Prior to the elevation, Khanna served as Senior Director, Premium Sports at JioStar from April 2025 to June 2026, where he played a key role in the company’s premium sports portfolio and strategic initiatives.
Before joining JioStar, he was with Truecaller for more than four years, serving as Director and Lead GTM and Sales – Global Markets from January 2023 to March 2025. Earlier, he held the role of Director, Channel Sales – Global Markets from March 2021 to December 2022, leading the company’s international channel and sales strategy.
Khanna also spent nearly three years at BlackBerry as Head, Channel Sales and Distribution – India and SAARC from June 2018 to February 2021, overseeing the company’s partner ecosystem and regional distribution operations.
Earlier in his career, he served as Regional Channel Manager – West at Trend Micro from February 2017 to June 2018, and as Partner Business Manager (Commercial Channel Sales) at HP from September 2014 to February 2017.
He also held leadership roles at Diebold as Area Manager – Sales (West) from April 2014 to August 2014 and at Gartner as Account Director – SMB from November 2011 to January 2014.
With a career spanning sports, technology, sales and business development, Khanna’s promotion underscores JioStar’s continued focus on strengthening its sports leadership team and bolstering its strategic approach to managing and acquiring marquee sports rights.
