AI-powered commerce platform Komerz has appointed Shahid Sadiq as its Group Chief Financial Officer, bringing one of the marketing communications industry’s most experienced finance leaders into its executive team.
A Chartered Accountant with over two decades of experience in the marketing communications sector, Sadiq joins from WPP, where he served as Global CFO of WPP Specialist Communications and PR, overseeing finance across a multi-market portfolio of businesses.
Earlier in his career, he held several senior leadership positions, including CFO and later COO for EMEA at Geometry Global, as well as Regional CFO for McCann Worldgroup EMEA. He has also served on the boards of listed and private companies as an advisor and Non-Executive Director.
At Komerz, Sadiq will lead group finance, capital allocation, investment strategy, fundraising, governance, performance management and investor relations. He will also play a pivotal role in scaling the company’s AI-powered commerce ecosystem and supporting its global expansion ambitions.
Founded in the UK in 2023, Komerz is currently undertaking a growth financing round that values the company at £500 million. The business has rapidly expanded its presence across brands, data, marketing and commerce through a series of acquisitions, including haircare brand NOUGHTY, Great Wines Direct, US-based marketing measurement and attribution firm Pathformance Technologies, and brand and marketing consultancy Glassbox.
At the core of the company’s strategy is the Komerz Operating System, an AI-powered platform designed to integrate data, intelligence and execution across the entire brand lifecycle, helping businesses optimise targeting, demand forecasting, distribution and performance management.
Sadiq’s appointment comes at a pivotal stage in Komerz’s growth journey as the company looks to strengthen its financial leadership and accelerate long-term value creation across its global operations.
