India has failed to add any new Lions on Day 3 of Cannes Lions 2026, with the country’s medal tally remaining at five after the announcement of winners across the Direct, Media, PR, Social & Creator, and Creative Data Lions categories.
India had entered the awards night with four shortlisted entries across the Direct and Media Lions categories. However, none of the campaigns converted into wins.
India did not have any shortlisted entries in the PR Lions, Social & Creator Lions and Creative Data Lions categories.
Despite the lack of wins, India’s overall shortlist tally has continued to rise and has reached 24 across 30 categories. The latest additions include Film Lions shortlists for Enormous’ ‘Everybody Loves A Good Fight’ campaign for Battlegrounds Mobile India and Fundamental’s ‘Baatan Hi Baatan Mein’ campaign for WhatsApp.
India has also secured a shortlist in the Sustainable Development Goals Lions category through ‘Mothers Of Courage – Shifting Societal Norms, One Conversation At A Time’ for Shiksha Chaupal, created by Mantra Social Services in partnership with ShikshaLokam.
So far, India’s five Lions at Cannes Lions 2026 comprise two Silver and three Bronze metals. Brand David and Leo have secured one Silver Lion each, while Humour Me, Ogilvy and TBWA\Lintas have won one Bronze Lion each.
Attention now shifts to Day 4, when winners will be announced across categories including Creative Strategy, Creative Commerce, Brand Experience & Activation, Creative Effectiveness, Luxury, Innovation and Creative Business Transformation Lions, where India remains in contention through multiple shortlisted entries.
The 73rd edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is being held from June 22 to June 26, 2026, in Cannes, France.
