Fresh speculation around India’s Got Latent is taking over social media after Samay Raina posted a cryptic Instagram poll asking followers to choose between Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Soon after, Netflix India appeared to join the conversation by sharing an image resembling the show’s iconic bodyguard character and tagging the comedian, prompting fans to connect the dots.
While neither side has officially confirmed a partnership for the show, the coordinated social media activity has reignited rumours that India’s Got Latent Season 2 may return on Netflix rather than YouTube. The buzz comes weeks after Raina confirmed that filming for the second season is already underway, making the possibility of an OTT comeback seem more plausible than ever.
The speculation began when Samay shared an Instagram Story featuring a simple poll asking followers to choose between Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The poll received an overwhelming response in Netflix’s favour, with nearly 82% of voters selecting the streaming giant. Samay then reposted the result with the caption, “Alright then,” a move many fans interpreted as more than just a casual social media interaction.
Adding fuel to the rumours, Netflix India later shared a post featuring a muscular bald man dressed in black, the bodyguard character that became a recurring visual element in India’s Got Latent. The platform tagged Samay Raina in the post and asked followers to “Drop 🍋🌶️ in the comments” and said they’re gonna need it, leading many viewers to believe the streamer was intentionally teasing an upcoming collaboration.
The timing of these posts is particularly noteworthy. Over the past few months, fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the future of India’s Got Latent, one of India’s most successful creator-led comedy properties. Earlier this year, Samay had confirmed that work on Season 2 was already in progress, telling fans that shooting for the next edition had begun. Since then, reports and social media chatter have suggested that several creators and celebrity guests have already filmed episodes for the upcoming season.
While there is no official confirmation of a Netflix deal, many viewers believe the clues point towards a platform shift. If the speculation turns out to be true, the move would mark a significant evolution for the franchise.
The original show thrived on YouTube’s open-access model, but an OTT platform could offer larger production budgets, stronger content controls and a more structured monetisation framework.
Launched by Samay Raina, India’s Got Latent quickly emerged as one of India’s most talked-about comedy and talent formats.
However, the show’s momentum came to an abrupt halt in February 2025 after an episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia sparked widespread controversy. Remarks made during the episode triggered backlash across social media, leading to multiple complaints and legal scrutiny involving several participants associated with the show.
As the controversy escalated, Samay Raina removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube. In a public statement, he said the situation had become difficult to handle and that he would cooperate with authorities throughout the process. The decision effectively erased the show’s extensive YouTube library despite its massive popularity.
Before the controversy, India’s Got Latent had already expanded beyond YouTube. Samay had launched a dedicated India’s Got Latent app to deepen audience engagement and create an ecosystem around the franchise. The move signalled ambitions to build the property into a long-term entertainment brand rather than just a YouTube series.
Now, with Season 2 reportedly in production and Netflix seemingly joining the conversation through a series of carefully timed social media hints, fans believe the show’s comeback could be closer than ever. Until an official announcement arrives, the Netflix theory remains speculation but for many viewers, the breadcrumbs are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
