Netflix has increased subscription prices across all its plans in the United States, marking the second price hike in the region this year. The move has made all tiers more expensive for users, following a previous increase in January when the company had raised prices by $2.50 per month.
The latest revision has pushed the ad-supported plan to $8.99 per month from $7.99, while the standard plan has increased to $19.99 from $17.99. The premium plan has risen to $26.99 per month, up from $24.99, as per media reports.
The company has also increased extra member pricing. Ad-supported add-ons have been priced at $6.99 each, up from $5.99, while ad-free add-ons have increased to $9.99 each from $8.99.
As per the reports, the price hike has been aimed at supporting its growing investment in content. Netflix has planned to spend $20 billion on content in 2026, compared to $18 billion in 2025. This has included expansion into live events and video podcasts as the platform has looked to diversify beyond traditional streaming.
Executives have maintained that the wider range of programming has justified the higher subscription costs, positioning the platform as a leader in entertainment innovation.
