Music Nova has announced a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing India to manage and administer its music catalogue globally.
Under the agreement, Universal Music Publishing India has taken on responsibilities including licensing, royalty collection and synchronization opportunities across film, television, OTT platforms and advertising. The partnership has aimed to expand the global reach and monetisation of Music Nova’s catalogue.
The development has reflected a broader shift in the music industry, where regional and devotional catalogues are being integrated into global publishing ecosystems. Music Nova’s catalogue, which spans regional, spiritual, devotional and fusion genres, has been positioned for increased licensing opportunities across multiple platforms and international markets.
With content available in eight languages, the label has aligned its catalogue with growing demand driven by OTT platforms, short-form video and streaming services. The collaboration has also come at a time when regional and devotional music has seen renewed traction among both domestic and diaspora audiences.
The deal has combined Music Nova’s catalogue with the global publishing network of Universal Music Publishing Group, enabling wider distribution and commercial opportunities across media formats.
“This partnership marks a significant step for Music Nova as we expand the global reach of our music. By joining forces with Universal Music Publishing India, we aim to maximize the impact of our artists and compositions across platforms and markets.” – Dhiraj Advani, Partner, Media Nova
