Meta has removed more than 20 million accounts impersonating large content creators on Facebook in 2025, as part of its efforts to curb unoriginal content and protect creator authenticity.
The company has said that impersonation reports related to large content creators have dropped by 33% following these actions, indicating a decline in copycat activity on the platform.
The move has been part of Meta’s broader push to prioritise original content across Facebook Feed and Reels, alongside measures aimed at reducing the visibility of duplicate or low-value content.
