YouTube has partnered with FIFA as a Preferred Platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026, aimed at expanding how global audiences access and engage with the tournament. The collaboration will bring premium content from official media partners and creators onto YouTube, alongside archival footage from FIFA’s digital library.
As part of the agreement, media partners will gain enhanced capabilities to publish extended highlights, behind-the-scenes content, Shorts, and video-on-demand formats, along with new monetisation opportunities. For the first time, partners will also have the option to live stream the opening 10 minutes of matches and select full games on their YouTube channels.
Additionally, creators will be given access to tournament content and archives to produce original perspectives, contributing to broader fan engagement and extending the tournament’s reach across digital audiences.
Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General, said, “FIFA is delighted to welcome YouTube as a Preferred Platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. By spotlighting FIFA’s premium content and unlocking new opportunities for Media Partners and creators, this agreement will engage global fans in ways never seen before.”
He added, “As the world’s attention turns to the action in Canada, Mexico and the United States, this collaboration with YouTube reinforces our ambition to maximise the tournament’s impact across the ever-evolving media landscape, offering fans everywhere easy access to an immersive view of the biggest single-sport event in history.”
