JioStar has elevated Karthik Kailash to Vice President – Content Strategy and Planning (Sports). In his expanded role, he has been responsible for driving audience engagement across screens through sports content initiatives, enabling recruitment, aiding monetisation via branded content integrations, overseeing FPC management across 24 Star Sports channels, and managing digital content operations and publishing for sports on JioHotstar.
Kailash has shared the update on LinkedIn, marking the next chapter in his journey with the organisation.
Prior to this elevation, Kailash has served as Senior Director – Programming Strategy, Scheduling and Partnerships – Sports at JioStar from December 2021 to December 2025.
Before joining JioStar, he worked with Sony Pictures Networks India in Programming Strategy – Hindi GEC between January 2020 and December 2021, based in Mumbai. He has also spent over four years at Disney Star in roles including Manager – Content Strategy, Sports from July 2017 to January 2020 and Assistant Manager – Programming, Sports from July 2015 to June 2017, contributing to consumer insight-driven content planning.
He began his career at CRISIL as a Senior Research Analyst – Automobile from May 2011 to June 2014 in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, where he handled end-to-end execution of client-mandated automobile market entry projects as part of the Customised Research team.
