Festive inspiration now comes not from shop windows but from Reels. As per Marketing Mind’s ‘The Festive Decode 2025,’ 68% of consumers discover festive ideas on Instagram Reels, making it the undisputed hub for festive inspiration.
YouTube videos 14% and Pinterest 10% followed as secondary sources, while WhatsApp forwards 4.1% and Facebook 3.9% together accounted for less than 10% – marking a decisive shift from static sharing to short-form discovery. The insight is unmistakable, India’s festive ideas are now algorithm-fed, not word-of-mouth.
Adding to that, 53% of respondents confessed to making impulse purchases after seeing festive content online, 17.8% often, 35.5% sometimes, proving that every scroll is a storefront.
As Marketing Mind’s report notes, in today’s India, consumers don’t plan their festive buys, they scroll into them.
Marketing Mind’s ‘The Festive Decode 2025,’ conducted between August–October 2025, is the platform’s inaugural research milestone, and the first time it has decoded the link between social media and festive spending. Capturing 10,000+ voices, it cements Marketing Mind’s position at the intersection of consumer psychology, digital culture, and marketing intelligence.
