The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Tilaknagar Industries’s (TIL) acquisition of the business of production, bottling, marketing, and sale of alcoholic and other beverages under the ‘Imperial Brands’ (Target Business).
The Proposed Combination has involved the acquisition of the Target Business, which was previously owned by Pernod Ricard India Private Limited (PRIPL), by TIL.
Tilaknagar Industries has established itself in the Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) sector and has maintained a wide portfolio of brands across the IMFL segment, including brandy, rum, whisky, gin, and vodka.
The Target Business has operated in the production, bottling, marketing, and sale of alcoholic and other beverages under the Imperial Brands portfolio, including the sale of whisky under the Imperial Blue brand in India and various international markets.
