WPP Media, previously known as GroupM, has secured the top position among media agency groups in India with $6.6 billion in billings for 2024, according to the latest Billings and Market Share report by COMvergence.
COMvergence, an independent research and data consultancy, which analyses media spend investments and produces benchmark studies, on new business performances, and Billings and Market shares of media agencies, released its latest annual Billings and Market Share Report for 2024 (January to December) for India.
In 2024 the total market studied by COMvergence was $16 billion, this total studied market includes twenty agency networks and two independent agencies. Last year, the media agencies across saw $6.8B in digital spends and an average of 52 % in digital share across agencies.
The Media Agency Groups were led by WPP Media (formerly GroupM) with $6.6B billings, IPG Mediabrands with $2.0B and Publicis Media with $1.7B billings.
The ranking for the individual agencies, was dominated by three WPP Media agencies led by
Mindshare at $2.6B total billings, followed by Wavemaker $1.8B total billings, very closely followed by EssenceMediacom at $1.7B, Lodestar UM at $1.0B, and Madison Media at $970M in total billings respectively.
