JioStar has appointed Vivek Mohan Sharma– Head- Branded Content and MTV Properties (TV+JioCinema)-as the Business Head for its Youth, Music, and English cluster, succeeding Anshul Ailawadi.

Ailawadi had been with the company for 11 years. He was responsible for the company’s brands in the Youth, Music and English Entertainment genres. These include MTV, MTV Beats, Comedy Central, Vh1 and Colors Infinity and Viacom18’s digital channels – Fully Faltoo and KaanPhod Music. Prior to his current role, Ailawadi served as the strategy and project lead in the Group CEO’s office at Viacom18.
During this stint he drove the company’s change management programme, leveraged synergies across different teams and worked on several network-level partnerships. In the past he worked with the Tata Strategic Management Group, CNBC TV18 and co- founded an e-learning startup.
Sharma has been associated with the company for nearly four years. Previously, he worked with Mirchi for over five years between January 2016 and May 2021. Here he transitioned through various roles including Vice President and Business Head (Karnataka); Senior Vice President and Regional Director (West and Central India); Head- Digital Content Business.
In the past, he was also associated with Idea Cellular, Deutsche Bank and ICICI Bank.
