Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, which is a Joint Industry Body founded by stakeholder bodies that represent Broadcasters, Advertisers, and Advertising and Media Agencies, has recently launched its weekly data report.
The body has been giving out weekly ad volume data ranking brands, channels, and advertisers across genres. With a panel size of 180,000 individuals, BARC India is also the largest measurement company of its kind in the world.
BARC has recently launched its data for week 40 of 2021. As per the numbers shared by the body, here are the top 10 advertisers and top 10 brands for the week.
Top 10 Advertisers
HUL, which is a leader in the FMCG industry took the lead as the top advertiser once again in week 40 of 2021 with an ad volume of 4779.73 (‘000s).
Following HUL’s lead, Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd and Amazon Online India PVT Ltd took the second and the third position with 3267.96 (‘000s) and 1002.43 (‘000s) respectively.
Cadburys India Ltd and Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd were amongst the top five advertisers this week. The remaining five spots were taken by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Ponds India, Flipkart.com, Procter & Gamble, and Coca-Cola India Ltd.
Top 10 Brands
Amazon.in was the number one brand this week with an ad vol of 782.06 (‘000s). This was Amazon’s third consecutive week maintaining its number one position.
Online shopping brands were seen taking the lead as the second place was taken by Flipkart.com with 517.91 (‘000s).
Horlicks, Dettol Toilet Soaps, Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean, were amongst the remaining top five brands with 491.78 (‘000 secs), 400.09 (‘000 secs), and 349.69 (‘000 secs) respectively.
Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Lizol, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Coca Cola, and Boost took their respective positions from sixth to the tenth spot.
Top 10 Channels
As for the top channels, Sun TV took the lead across India with 2844.59 AMA’000 this week, and Star Plus, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Maa, and Star Vijay were the remaining names in the top five.
