The pandemic has gotten a lot of youth interested into becoming pet-parents. According to Petex data, India is the fastest growing petcare market in the world, and according to a bonafide research report, it is expected to reach INR5,474 crore in the next three years.
1.Supertails
The startup found by Varun Sadana, Vineet Khanna and Aman Tekriwal, is a digital petcare entity. Supertails, is a Bengaluru-based company that assures veterinary care and is the place for A to Z of pet food and supplies. They also offer home delivery of pet supplies. They have experienced veterinarians that provide effective telecounselling for all pet worries. Supertails also raised INR 5.75 crore in venture debt from Alteria capital.
2.Heads Up For Tails
The startup offers best quality petcare products like harnesses, leashes, collars, dog bowls, clothing, cat furniture, scratchers along with personalized bedding, nametags, accessories and diners. The startup is well-known among pet owners, and in August last year, raised $37 million in a series A round of funding. Founder Rashi Narang says, “At HUFT, we believe pets are family. And family deserves only the best. Pets are at the heart of everything we do, and all our offerings are a celebration of who they are and our relationship with them. Every single day we work toward and in tandem with our vision statement – ‘For every home to experience the joys of raising pets as family’.”
3. Just dogs
Founders Ashish Anthony and Poorvi Anthony believe, that with more than 30 million pets, India is the fastest-growing pet market opportunity in the world. The decade old startup in petcare, Just Dogs, is an omnichannel retailer from Ahmedabad for all things petcare. With 42 stores in the country, the brand offers dog and cat food, accessories and clothing.
4.Pawfect.xyz
One of the most innovative petcare startups in the country, Pune-based Pawfect.xyz offers pet services such as doorstep prepping meet, purchasing pet food and medicines, find a pet-sitter or trainer and a host of other services. The startup was found by Swapnil Shah and Udit Chugh in 2019.
5.Wiggles
Father-daughter duo Rajh V. Iyer and Anushka started wiggles in 2018. An online platform for pet owners, the platform offers vets on-call service, grooming services, and pet healthcare and nutrition products. Wiggles just raised $1 million in funding. They aim to utilise the funding to spread pan-India and help transform the pet healthcare sector.
6.Canine Can Care
Found By Shirin Merchant in 1998, the company offers various dog products for pet dog-owners. She also provides kennelling and training courses to dog trainers. The company is based in Mumbai.
