Maths Olympiad is tough to crack but it is also a rewarding examination. You get to polish your subject skill and become almost a master in it. 

The Olympiad examination for 8th grade is open to all students studying in class 8. 

International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) conducts exams to help polish the skills of the students. Also, this exam will help them in the future when they will appear for other competitive exams.

It takes a lot of hard work to qualify for International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), as a student has to spend a lot of time and energy in understanding and solving the problems of the Olympiad.

Mostly, students are confused about how to start making preparations for the IMO examination and, which books to refer to while making preparations. 

So when you have decided to show up for the Math Olympiad to test your aptitude and problem-solving skills, it’s time to speed up your preparations also.

Get Familiar with Syllabus

It is important to understand and be familiar with the syllabus for the Maths Olympiad exam. Without understanding the correct syllabus you cannot score good marks.

Go through the IMO syllabus thoroughly and cover each and every topic of it. A thorough understanding of the curriculum is necessary to cover each topic during exam preparation.

It also makes it easy to navigate through each topic, which results in the timely completion of preparation.

Choose Right Materials

To crack Maths Olympiad easily, you have to prepare with the right material. because if you don’t study properly you will get confused and trapped while answering questions. 

After carefully going through the syllabus refer to all books and resources needed for making preparations. It is recommended that while preparing for the Class 8th Maths Olympiad you only get the right books that cover all the topics in the IMO syllabus.

Get previous year’s question papers, workbook exercises, and mock test series to prepare for IMO. Class 8 maths preparation books are perfect for preparation as they will help you practice in a real exam-like environment.

Make A Proper Schedule

Prepare a timetable for your IMO preparation. Make a proper schedule, dedicating time for each topic from the syllabus. You must keep on with the timetable till you finish your final preparations. 

Have A Right Focus

You’ve probably heard of learning a lot, but learning smart is the new mantra that is just as important as hard work. Plan your study time efficiently so that you have plenty of time to practice, evaluate, and rework. Clear Basic Maths Concept 

As you know, all Olympiad questions are concept-based and objective, so you should emphasize the basics in math of both the current and previous grades. Keep Your Mind Fresh

If you have already taken the Math Olympics exam, you should know what to expect from the exam. Most tests come with a Pre-study guide that explains how the exam works. Questions are usually in an essay now or multiple-choice format. The exam usually lasts two hours.

As you prepare for the Math Olympics, you need to practice your problem-solving skills. There are many problems that students struggle with when taking the Olympic exam. Therefore, if you want to take the test, it is a good idea to practice the math problems that are difficult for you. And make sure you can resolve any issues before taking them for the exam.
