Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has secured exclusive television and digital broadcast rights for the upcoming India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A Tri-Nation Series, further strengthening its live cricket portfolio.
The tournament, which runs from June 9 to June 21 in Sri Lanka, will be available exclusively across SPN’s television and digital platforms in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The series is expected to shine a spotlight on emerging cricket talent, including 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who earned his maiden India A ODI call-up after a standout T20 season. Other players to watch include Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni and Suryansh Shedge.
The competition will be played in a double round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final on June 21. Across seven ODI matches, the tournament is expected to provide valuable international exposure to a new generation of cricketers.
With the acquisition, SPN continues to deepen its investment in live sports programming and expands its cricket offering for viewers across the region. The broadcaster said the addition of the tri-series enhances its 2026 cricket calendar and provides fans with another opportunity to follow India’s development squads in action. The matches will be broadcast live from 10:00 AM IST in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution and International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), said, “The addition of the tri-nation broadens our cricket portfolio and the series represents an important milestone in the development pathway for emerging cricketers across the region. One of the biggest draws for viewers will be to watch the biggest sensation in Indian cricket, teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi whose explosive talent is making him one of the most talked-about players today.”
