Somasree Bose Awasthi has joined Hamilton Housewares (Milton) as Business Unit Head, taking charge of business operations, category leadership and growth planning.
She announced this move via a linkedin post.
Before this appointment, Awasthi worked as an Independent Consultant for six months, supporting SMEs with marketing strategy, innovation planning and long term category priorities.
Earlier, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at Marico from November 2022 to June 2025, a 2 year 8 month tenure during which she led market share turnaround, delivered multiple new product launches and strengthened portfolio processes across categories. At Marico, she also oversaw the domestic introduction of products from the company’s international portfolio and drove several award-winning brand campaigns.
Awasthi previously spent 15 years and 8 months at Godrej Consumer Products in senior marketing leadership roles, including Chief Marketing Officer (India), Head of Marketing for Homecare, and Head of Marketing for Personal Care and Aircare. Her responsibilities covered brands such as Godrej No 1, Cinthol, Protekt and Godrej Aer, alongside the launch of category innovations such as the powder-to-liquid handwash Mr Magic and Cinthol’s grooming range.
Her earlier assignments at Godrej included leading marketing for Cinthol, Aer and Protekt in 2015–16, serving as Associate Vice President Marketing for Personal Care and Aircare from 2014 to 2015, and holding the General Manager Marketing role for Personal Care, Household Insecticides and Aircare from 2012 to 2014. She handled multiple brand launches during this period, including Godrej Aer in 2012 and Hit Anti Roach Gel in 2013, and received several internal awards for innovation and effectiveness.
Awasthi began her marketing career with Godrej Sara Lee in 2004, handling Jet and later Hit, before moving into sales management for West Bengal upcountry from 2003 to 2004.
