Menstruation is a phenomenon unique to girls. However, it has always been surrounded by taboos and myths that exclude women from many aspects specially in our Indian society leading to creating a negative impact on the minds, lifestyle and most importantly the health of young girls and women.
While there have been serious efforts made by the government, NGOs, activists, digital media and even education centres to raise awareness about mensuration and mensuration hygiene in India, over 82% of mensurating women still lack engage in unhygienic practices.
This Mensuration Hygiene Day this is how brands made use of media media to break this taboo and create awareness in their own way.
Padman stars Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte also posted their throwback pictures from the movie to create awareness around the menstruation hygiene including the television star Anita Hassnandani.
