After being associated with Cheil SWA for close to a decade now, Sanjeev Jasani, one of the rock solid pillars behind the agency’s buildup in India not just as Samsung’s ad agency but as an agency which has the expertise to cater to clients from several other categories via Cheil X, has now decided to part ways from the agency.
Confirming the news to Marketing Mind, a Cheil spokesperson mentioned that he is currently serving his three-months long notice period at the agency and will continue to serve the role of Chief Operating Officer- India and South West Asia at Cheil SWA till the end of December, 2024.
Jasani had joined Cheil as Chief Digital Officer India and SWA in June 2015 and was responsible for managing the digital business for Samsung India, driving measurable growth and establishing Cheil India as a leader in digital marketing by building and managing high-performing digital teams by integrating ‘Digital’ into every discipline of the agency, moving it from a vertical to a horizontal proponent.
In January 2020, he was elevated to the role of Chief Operating Officer- India and South West Asia and was in turn responsible for leading a comprehensive digital transformation at the agency whilst fostering a data-driven culture and building specialised teams to deliver industry-leading results.
During his time as Cheil India and SWA COO, Jasani also oversaw successful M&A strategies, expanding Cheil India’s capabilities and market reach and contributing to the Executive Board strategically- by advising on growth initiatives and spearheading new business development strategies, securing significant client wins all while reporting directly to Cheil’s MD.
Prior to joining Cheil in June 2015, he served the role of SVP and Head of Office- Delhi at OgilvyOne Worldwide for close to one-and-a-half decades. During this time, he grew OgilvyOne Delhi’s revenue by over 200%, provided strategic and creative leadership across digital and traditional advertising for global brands like American Express, Cisco, KFC, Coca-Cola, Yahoo, DuPont, and Nokia.
Additionally, he also designed and implemented award-winning consumer engagement programs across digital and social platforms at OgilvyOne Worldwide and built and mentored a high-performing team, fostering a strong client management and people management culture.
He began his career as a Senior Account Executive at Contract Advertising in 1996 and then went on to take Account Supervisor role at J Walter Thompson in 1998 before beginning his stint at OgilvyOne Worldwide.
