Popstar Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the electronics giant of using her image on television packaging in the US without permission. The singer is seeking at least $15 million in damages.
Media reports suggest that in California-based court filings, Lipa alleged that a backstage photograph taken during the 2024 Austin City Limits festival was used across Samsung TV boxes and promotional material, creating the impression that she had endorsed the products. The lawsuit claims the image was part of a broader marketing push tied to Samsung televisions sold in 2025.
As per media reports, the singer has also accused Samsung of copyright infringement, misuse of her likeness and trademark violations, arguing that the unauthorised use of her image harmed her commercial brand partnerships and public image. The filing also states that her legal team had previously asked the company to stop using the photograph, but the products allegedly remained in circulation.
