Samvardhana Motherson International (SAMIL) has announced key leadership changes as part of its ongoing Vision 2030 journey. The company has appointed Gandharv Tongia as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel, effective November 15, 2025.
Concurrently, Kunal Malani has been elevated to the role of President – Group Strategy and Transformation, stepping down as CFO on November 14, 2025.
The Board of Directors has approved these changes based on the recommendations of the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The company has stated that the move reflects its strategic focus on driving growth and transformation initiatives under Vision 2030.
Tongia has brought over two decades of experience across corporate finance, strategy, audit, taxation, digital transformation, and consulting. A member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, he has previously worked at Polycab India and leading audit firms. Beyond his professional achievements, he has chaired the CFO Forum for the Western Region at CII and the CFO Council for ASSOCHAM.
Malani, who played a pivotal role in the creation of Motherson 2.0 and the execution of Vision 2025, has been credited for steering the company through the pandemic and driving 2.5x growth over the last five years. He has overseen over 20 acquisitions, enabling the group to achieve investment-grade ratings internationally.
